Why This Guide Exists

Referrals are our way of thanking the community members who help build Newton's user base. This  guide explains how Newton’s newly upgraded referral program works, what you and your friends can expect, and the important terms to keep in mind. This edition reflects our latest framework, designed to offer higher reward potential for our active users while promoting and maintaining a high-quality community.

The Basics

Our upgraded program is built around shared progress and platform loyalty. When you share your unique Newton referral link, your friend receives a guaranteed $20 CAD welcome bonus upon completing their initial transaction milestone, described below.

For referrers, the rewards have evolved. Instead of a flat-rate payout, the referrer bonus automatically scales up to $100 CAD per successful referral based on your rolling 12-month platform activity. It’s our way of ensuring that the people who genuinely use and support Newton receive additional value. Terms and conditions apply

How Our Program Works

Getting started is simple, transparent, and tracked in real time.

For the Referrer:

1. Grab your link: Sign in to Newton and find your unique referral code directly in-app. Note: To qualify as a referrer, your own account must have a cumulative trading volume of at least $100 CAD.
2. Share with your network: Copy your link and share it with friends, family, or your community.
3. Collect your reward: Your exact payout ($20, $30, $40, or $100 CAD) is calculated using your rolling 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume at the exact moment your friend meets their milestone.
   1. Signature perks: If you are a member of our Platinum or Diamond Signature tiers, your successful referral gifts your friend a 14-day pass to your exclusive Signature trading fees.

For the Referee:

1. Sign up: They create a Newton account and enter the provided referral link.
2. Complete the milestone: They fund their account and execute trades totalling $100 CAD or more within their first 90 days.
3. Receive the bonus: A guaranteed $20 CAD welcome bonus will be credited to their account once conditions are met.
   1. The Signature Upgrade: If they use a Platinum or Diamond member's link, they will instantly unlock a 14-day pass to Signature benefits upon sign-up, granting them temporary access to our lowest trading fees right away.

The referral bonus will usually appear within minutes for both the referrer and referee once the requirements for the referral fee have been met.

Tracking Your Referrals

You never have to guess where you stand. We’ve completely upgraded the in-app dashboard to give you total visibility. Right from your Newton app, you can:

• View your current referral reward payout.
• Track the real-time status of pending referrals (complete vs. still in progress).
• Monitor each referral reward deposit to see exactly when your referral cash settles.

What People Ask Most

Who is eligible to participate as a referrer? To participate as an Eligible Referrer, your account must be fully verified and have completed a cumulative trading volume in the referring account of at least $100 CAD on the platform.

Did  referral rewards change? The base reward is now $20 CAD (previously $25), but we’ve introduced a new payout system that rewards platform loyalty. If you are an active Newton user, your reward can now be $30, $40, or even  $100 per referral based on your account's 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume.

What is my referral reward amount? Your exact reward level is always visible inside the Newton app. Just head over to your dashboard to see your current reward payout, check how it’s calculated, and track whether your active referrals are complete or still in progress.

How often does my reward payout per referral change? Because your payout per referral is based on a 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume, it is evaluated in real time. Your account volume naturally shifts as old trading days fall off the 365-day window and new ones are added. Your payout is determined by the active reward amount at the exact time your friend completes their $100 trading milestone.

What happens if I refer someone today, but my trading volume changes before they complete their milestone? Your payout is calculated using your account's 365-day Average Monthly Trade Volume at the exact moment your friend completes their $100 trading milestone, not when they first used your link.

Does my friend’s $100 trade have to happen all at once? No. Your friend can complete their $100 requirement through a single trade or multiple smaller trades, as long as their total cumulative trading volume reaches $100 CAD or more within 90 days of verifying their account.

What are Signature referrals? Active referrers in our Signature Program have the unique ability to pass their tier status down. When your friend completes their initial welcome milestone, they’ll automatically receive 14 days of premium Signature benefits, allowing them to experience the same low fees our members enjoy.

Terms and Conditions in Brief

The following is a summary, qualified in its entirety by the Referral Program Terms & Conditions:

• You must be a Canadian resident, at least 18 years old, and have an active Newton account with at least $100 CAD in cumulative trading activity.
• To count as a Qualified Referral, your friend must be new to Newton, be a Canadian resident at least 18 years old, and complete at least $100 CAD in trades within 90 days of completing account verification.
• Referral rewards vary based on your average monthly trade volume over the trailing 365 days. Friends receive a fixed $20 CAD reward for each Qualified Referral.
• Rewards are subject to verification and may be delayed, capped, denied, or disqualified if any activity appears fraudulent, suspicious, or not in line with the program rules.
• Newton may modify, suspend, or terminate the program, reward amounts, eligibility criteria, or any other part of the program at any time.

Referral Statement

When you sign up using a referral link, the individual who referred you receives a financial reward once you fund your account and complete trades totalling $100 CAD or more. This reward ranges from $20 CAD up to $100 CAD, determined by the referrer's platform activity level at the moment you complete the trading milestone. This statement serves as a conflict of interest disclosure, as the person referring you is financially incentivized to invite you to Newton.
